Cars in The sims 4?

I really want to emphasize that when we ask for cars in The Sims 4, we don't just want a static object that teleports us. We want the full, deep functionality that we had in The Sims 2. The Sims 2 cars felt like a real part of the family's life. Here are the specific features and animations that made them so special and why they should be added to TS4:

• Immersion & Animations: I want to see Sims actually walking to the car, opening the door, sitting down, and fastening their seatbelts. We need the animation of the car reversing out of the driveway and driving away—not just a loading screen pop-up.
• Social Hub: In TS2, Sims could sit in the car together to talk, listen to the radio, or 'WooHoo'. It was a private space for them.
• Teen Interactions: Remember teaching teens how to drive? That was such a huge milestone for families! Also, teens should be able to 'hang out' in the car or even sneak out at night using it.
• The Junk Car (Restoration): One of the best hobbies was the 'Restorable Car'. Spending days under the hood to build the Handiness skill and then finally painting it and driving it was incredibly rewarding.
• Safety & Utility: We need car alarms to prevent theft (bringing back the Burglar!) and the ability to lock the car so only specific Sims can use it.
• The School Bus & Carpools: Seeing the carpool arrive for work or the school bus for the kids added a sense of routine and 'life' to the neighborhood that is currently missing.
• Customization: We need to be able to choose the colors, set the lights, and hear the engine start.

The Sims 4 engine can definitely handle these 'lot-based' animations. Please, Maxis, don't just give us a prop—give us the soul of the Sims 2 vehicles!

@mfulcher77 , yes this is true.  But you are replying to someone from almost 3 years ago, so I think they probably have moved on. 😉

Is one of those going to be a rusted junk Model Car from the 1960s? I dislike using cheats so...yeah I doubt the cars from the toybox are good "decor"; (i don't consider resizing cheating, just visually glitchy because of the alphas)

@AmyWrent  You need two cheats to get those cars:

bb.showhiddenobjects 

bb.showliveeditobjects

This pulls up A LOT of stuff that’s all named DEBUG, but some of that stuff does include cars. They’re only for decoration.

Why do I only get a few cars with the cheat and not all the ones in the game packs? 

@SimonKingMalky, while it is possible that the Sims 4 could get moving cars in the future, it isn't probable.☹️  This is because there isn't a real use for car without an open world like the Sims 3 had.  There really wouldn't  be much driving, just our Sims getting into a car and it backing out of the driveway before disappearing and getting a loading screen like cars did in the Sims 2.  Also in TS4 there are some neighborhoods (like the Vampires GP's neighborhood of Forgotten Hollow) that don't have real streets, so cars wouldn't work in those neighborhoods without completely changing them.😞 And the Sims 4 isn't going to get an open world because it was built on an entirely different engine than TS3. This is because the open world in TS3 would make the game run really slow even on the best computers, and it would become pretty much unplayable on most people's computers.😢 TS4 alleviated that problem by giving us semi-open worlds! 🙂  Still, I don't think it is enough for them to add cars to the game.  (And if they did, it wouldn't' be in a Stuff Pack-- it would have to be in either a Game Pack or an Expansion Pack!).  But I think our best bet for moveable cars in the Sims would be if we ever get The Sims 5. 😉
