@Aleisha_aleisha If this is a CC glitch, I recommend that you contact the creator of that particular CC and inform them of the issue, then watch for an update to their CC. To remove the issue in the meantime please remove their CC from the Mods folder, then delete the localthumbcache.package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder.
It is a CC glitch but the one part I’m having trouble understanding is that it’s the same for all my CC hair? They’re all from different creators. The glitch started after I messed with my Tray folder.

@Aleisha_aleisha What did you do with the tray folder? Did it happen after a particular update?

I took some of my tray folders out to speed up my game- and it worked perfectly fine, the hair wasn’t glitching then. But then I put the folders back in and then that’s when the glitch took place.

@Aleisha_aleishaVery interesting - and great detective work!! 🙌 I recently had a lot that I was building on and testing, and during the testing things were acting glitchy and laggy, and I had a number of items the Sims could not interact with. I thought I had made errors, but as I tested removing or changing things the errors remained or changed to different ones. I repaired the game and tried a number of troubleshooting things - then I went after my library and tray folder (same thing).
First I weeded out whatever I didn't really care about in my library.
Then I saved the tray folder in a safe place. I then in my game library removed all of my room with photos and paintings (I have many in there - I build a lot and add them to builds). Then I went in and saved a copy of that tray folder without all off my extra rooms (they were about half the tray content). I labelled this folder for my identification purposes. Then I tested my game with my greatly reduced tray size. The lot issues were gone. I saved a copy of that tray folder separately as my version without photo/painting rooms. This is the version I use now normally for regular play. So...
Then I went in and re-added my original tray folder.
This time I went into my game and library and deleted all of the non-photo/painting room items. Then I saved the tray folder without the other items in a separate place as my tray folder items with photos/paintings.
Then I used a copy of the tray folder with no photo/painting rooms. This is the version I use now normally for regular play.
Last time I finished a build and wanted to add my photos, I made a copy of my current tray folder and saved it. Then I temporarily used my tray folder with photos/paintings to get the photos I wanted for the new build. Then I put back my working/normal tray folder.
Long story short... I figured out what was bulking up my tray folder too much and reduced the size of it to get my issues to stop. A convoluted version of what you did. Anyway, I'm so glad you found out what the issue was and I'm sorry I didn't think to ask you if you, like me, had a huge library. 😉
