@tynyoung, there is a bug with the cheat box after the last patch.😞 However, it is different than the one you have described. The one you described has been confirmed to be caused by a Mod. Every time EA releases a update/patch for the game, some Mods or Custom Content (CC) become outdated. That means that if you have problems after an update to the game, you have to test your Mods/CC to find the culprit, and you have to do this every time . Then , once you find the culprit item(s) you have to go back to where you got the Mod./CC from and see if they have an updated version that works with the latest patch.
To find which item is causing the problem please do all of the following:
1) Move the Mods folder to your desktop
2) Delete the localthumbcache.package file in the game folder
3) Fix you game in Origin by logging into Origin and go to your Library. Right-click on The Sims 4 box icon and choose the option to "Repair Game". Wait until Origin fixes all of your packs and not just the base game.
4) Now you can turn on your game. When you do this it will create a new Mods folder that will be empty.
5) Check your game to see if the problem is fixed. If it isn't then your problem isn't from a Mod or CC. But if it is now fixed, then your problem was either a Mod or CC. Now you have to find which Mod or CC is the culprit by adding them back one by one and checking each time. If you have a lot of Mods/CC items, then you will probably need to do the 50/50 Method!
6) When you find what the problem Mod/CC was, replace it with the updated version from the creator.
In your case, this problem has been found to be caused by a Mod that affects the Map View of the game. (That should save you some trouble 😇 ). You will still need to do the first 3 steps even though you have an idea of which Mod is the problem! 🤨 However, if you discover another problem then I would test your other Mods/CC as well. You will have to do this every time the game gets a new patch/update! 😞 I stopped using Mods/CC because I had too many problems (This was back with The Sims 3; I never used them in The Sims 4). But if you aren't' as lazy as me, then this info should help you keep your Mods and CC! :eahigh_file:
