I used the largest lot in Chestnut ridge to build a huge farm and house. It took several days and after the first day or two I noticed the house was blacked out on the map, but I could still click on it. I finished it and made a family to live there, but none of them respond to anything I ask them to do. One sim won't move and is currently overheating. I've tried a new save file, rebooting game and computer. I'm just sad I spent so much time on it and can't use it now!

Looks like that build might have an issue. There was someone else having a similar problem and it ended up being an issue with their build.
Do you have the build up in the gallery ?
So I ended up just deleting the entire lot and starting over, got everything finished up and checked to make sure everything was working while I was building and all the sims just freeze and won’t do anything again! They worked for a few minutes then nothing.
I’m just now trying to build on a different lot so I’m not sure if any other lots in Chestnut Ridge have issues, but I’ve never had this problem before, no
