There are 5 different fire pits added in 3 different packs. All of these use wood. Are you perhaps thinking of the Charcoal Grill?
No I'm 100% actually mentioned it on a YouTube channel as well and someone who plays pc said the were also sure of these items as well and the said YouTuber said they would also check it out. Also I'm sure the coal firepit was basegame as it was out before the others it kind of look like this one but with coal instead of wood have found this I added a file
Are you thinking of the Sims 3?
No I'm not never played sims 3, only sims four and I've practically day of realest I use to use it in my builds the reason I noticed it wasn't there any more is I've started building modern viking inspired longhouse and thought it would make a nice part to my build and I could find it so my so one of my houses I was going to share on the gallery is going to have a big blank empty space.
Since there are no Fire pits in base game are you perhaps thinking of a fireplace instead? Firewalkers training ground do have coal.

Yes I know that but I can't find the version that was on sims 4 and I know there was a version of this because I bloody used it before the others bloody come I'm 100% certain of this. I've never played sims three by the way I just found the closest example to the one I've used in the on sims 4
@CymruValkrja It might help if you could link a description, even if it's in a YouTube video, of what you're remembering. I can't find any descriptions of any base game fire pits that use coal, and although there are a number of custom content options, you wouldn't have been able to install those on console.
The Island Paradise fire pit does mention being surrounded by coals, so it's also possible some of the descriptions are getting the details mixed up.
