First, don't use insta-repair on your computer for this task, I think it's broken it.
So, I finished the task of putting in the doohickey into the computer (the How Low Can You Go Deskblock Computer). I used a sim that had finished the knowledge aspiration, Nerd Brain, so I had the option to insta-repair the computer, which I did. This didn't count as repairing the computer, and I don't know what to do now. I could try to use the gremlins lot challenge to re-break it and fix it normally, but that would be difficult as I have 6 sims in the household currently. I'll comment what happens when it breaks again.
I do have mods like mccc, but I don't think that would make insta-repair not count for the mission task.
Saw someone say to use the salvage interaction, which I used. I've never used it before, so I didn't know what it did and now the computer has entirely disappeared. My sim still has the doohickey, but I can't implant it into another computer.
I just moved the accountDataDB.package like they said to, and that reset it to the beginning of week 3, so that's chill. What I've learned is to read the task description thoroughly and only do the interactions it tells me (even though insta-repair is repairing, and it should have counted)
