Compatability extension pack from all games

Hi all,

I would really use some help us I have no clue what am I doing... I currently jave The sims 4 with no extension packs. I planning to spend some money on all extensions packs and part of games and here is my big question... how on earth does it work??? If I have The sims 4 I can only use extensions pack for The sims 4? Also is it possible to have furnitures etc from previous parts of the game and put them on the sims 4? Do I have to choose which The sims I want to play? They can't work all together? This is so confusing for me so, please explain this to me like I was 5 year old... Thank you in advance!

Any packs you buy - Game, Stuff or Expansion, must be for the Sims 4, no previous version of the game - Sims 1, Sims 2 or Sims 3, will run packs made for Sims 4.

For a complete list of released packs to date I find the Wiki page the most helpful and well thought out - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sims_4

The easiest way to install the packs into your game is to buy them via Origin or EA App, whichever client you use for your base game. The pack will then be available in your Games Library once you click on Sims 4. If you have automatic updates enabled the pack will automatically download and install. If you don't, then simply click on the pack and choose Download.

Packs are not separate, they require the Sims 4 base game to work. All gameplay and associated objects, worlds, CAS items, will then be available to you when you launch the Sims 4.
