Seriously, please just revert to how it was. It was fine. Now you can’t scroll up and down in any menus without manually navigating the cursor over to a tiny scroll bar, you can’t select swatches without doing the same thing, you can’t use B to quickly go back to the previous menu level, you can’t raise or lower objects at all anymore as far as I can tell, the menu being constantly open takes up waaay too much of the screen. Functionality has been limited and it now takes about five times as long to do ANYTHING. It’s unplayable. I’m so upset and don’t understand why this has been done? I can’t play with a mouse and keyboard as I play in my living room from my sofa and don’t have a desk or anything in here. Also I shouldn’t have to?
@Rubytitania This is such a horrible error in judgment on their part that I literally made a whole account here just to yell at them. Usually I just message them on Twitter. But this is so bad I felt a need to go directly to the source. At least I hope this is the source anyway. This was my creative outlet and now it may be gone.
- @xtalonxgirlx Don't blame you one bit. I too had to make an account just to report on the mean bug we had for a while. I'm pretty livid that I have to make yet another appearance here dealing with a game breaking update.
- @WOLFNIGHTBLAZE there was another bug thing going on before this? I’ve not really noticed any major issues with mine before this. This is the first one I’ve had. There was that gallery issue awhile ago for like a day or two, but usually I’m okay with dealing with some issues or saving and shutting down the Xbox and it’ll fix itself, if it’s an issue with lagging. That’s at least manageable and I can still play. But omg I’m livid over this build mode thing because I can’t just shut it down or pull up the save and close the box out and make it go away. And I can’t even use it this way. And I just bought a whole new pack the day before that I can’t even use now.
@xtalonxgirlxYeah, the mean bug appeared after the October 11th launch this past year. Took them a couple months to get that sorted. Sims would randomly insult/yell and then later it was the constant shout forbidden words for no reason issue. That was dealt with, now I gotta raise sand over the build menu bug thanks to them reconfiguring the controller buttons, WHICH WAS NOT NEEDED!!!! If they were THAT concerned, give us button configuration so we can do it ourselves!!!! And it's thanks to this update now my game crashes a little too often. If they're so inclined on fixing things, then deal with the major issues like performance for example. This, clear as day, royally proves they just hash out these updates and don't bother to even so much as test them. Quit. Treating. Us consumers. Like. Beta. Testers.
That’s exactly how I feel. Building in The Sims 4 is my main hobby, my creative outlet, my way to unwind, and I feel like it’s just been taken away from me. I could honestly cry.
I feel the same exact way it's so frustrating and confusing.

- @lilbecci You know the thing that's annoying me the most is that we've had the console feedback thread for ages. We gave suggestions. Then it went quiet. There was nothing from the team to discuss anything. Then this. All anyone had to do was show us the plans and consult on it. I mean, it's our purchase. We've already bought it. If you buy a TV, someone doesn't walk into your home and say "I'm just going to tamper with the remote control for you flower, so channel 1 is now channel 5".
They should have posted exactly what the patch notes stated and asked us to respond to their proposed changes. This should have been done before they tampered with our controls.
Plus it's like I just said on the controller feedback thread, these controls transfer from game to game and have been used for decades for some of us.
I feel the same. This is the worst and it's not needed. Really hope this gets rectified because it is taking the fun out of something I so love to do...
