Constant Anger or Sad Moodlet
I have not played Sims 4 in several years, however, I have kept it up to date and added new games despite not playing as I enjoy the game. Recently, I have started playing more and enjoy the new aspe...
So an update to this:
This is a daily issue I have for both sims. Daily. They are tense as they are worried about blah, when I don't address it (as I am trying to get them to eat/pee/shower to go to work/school in a goodish mood) the tense turns to sad. The sad, if left unfixed (usually happens while they're at work/school) will develop into extreme anger. This is the sequence every time. On sims days off, I can try and get them to work through it or address a tense emotion, however, each time, it evolves into sad then extreme anger.
I am guessing this is a new addition to the game. If it is, it sucks. Period. The fact it is daily is even worse and makes this a feature that turns me off from this game again (I was turned off a few years ago because of an issue patch related that took too long to fix that cause the game to end or freeze after an hour or so). The only solution I found was a Mod, unfortunately. For some reason the game creators thought our having the ability to remove an unwanted moodlet was too powerful and as a result a Mod has allowed me to click off the sad moodlet when it inevitably appears. What I found is when the tense moodlet appears, if I use the Mod to click off it, it is instantly replaced by the sad moodlet which when clicked off is instantly replaced by the extreme anger moodlet. So this daily issue I've been dealing with is all connected. 2x a day every sim day.
Someone doesn't want our sims to succeed.
Btw, when I leave the sims to do whatever they want (usually when I go make dinner or whatever) they do not attempt to address their wants. So if this is something the game designers put in, they should have had the sims try to naturally seek out their desire or want to fix it themselves.
I will be using the Mod until this issue is fixed, hopefully within a year as that seems to be how long it typically takes to fix stuff. I dislike using mods as I feel it takes away from any game, though I can see why some choose to use mods to enhance games, I am not one of those.
This Mod has made the game 100% playable again as I can right click and remove the moodlets 3 times and go on with their day.
The Mod is explained here: https://youtu.be/oaynD2YtQx8 by lilsimsie. (it is the first one she explains) She is a very helpful youtuber.
Hopefully this helps everyone who responded with similar issues. Beware: it is very powerful and can make gameplay boring if you use it for anything else. I only use it for the moodlet issue above.
@sirdayne , not to mention a lot of people who play The Sims 4 are playing on a console and therefore can't use Mods to fix these issues! 😭
I choose not to use Mods, but that is my choice, and if I don't like it at least I know I can change it at any time! 😅 But console players have no choice, and therefore rely on the fixes that are given to us in patches to fix problems in the game.
I've had this issue for close on 2 years now I think. For me it's the Sadness Moodlets. I've reported them on here a few times and I'm on Console so no mods to mitigate the effects of the problem. I've also never used cheats but these days am sorely tempted.
It affects gameplay so badly because Sims slow down and trudge about sadly and totally without cause. CoL made it much worse. I love the vacations but my adventurous Sims get the Homesick Moodlet as soon as they extend a holiday and it sticks, it says it lasts for 4 hours but it starts again when the 4 hours are up and even lasts for up to a day after they return home. They get the Missing Furry Friends Moodlet when with said furry friends. I mean, if that rabbit could speak it would say "dude, you're getting a bit needy". The holidays cause a real problem as they don't complete when they should and my Sims get another Sadness Moodlet for that. They get another one for being near an evil Sim when they're not...I feel like cute little toddlers set that off so that's a tad worrying! I do adopt them but I always check they're not evil before I allow them through the gate.
The worst Anger Moodlet for me was from the phonecall about an inheritance, that one lasts for 7 days of pure rage. I've got a rubbish memory thanks to pain meds and I have to try and remember to give the right answer so that doesn't happen again! I keep a Notes app on my mobile so I can jot these tips down lol. I shouldn't be stressed to bits when my Sim gets a phonecall!
It wasn't caused by Wants and Fears but I can't speak to whether that addition made it worse... because that patch broke my game. So I've been waiting for Console crashes to be addressed before I can play again.
So you know when you're having tech issues and you've also got a depressed and weeping Sim...ah, fun times!
