Well neither of them are first-generation sims so I have not chosen their traits, it just seems strange that they would be tense the whole day even though they live together. I think that mods are good to mention in these respects.
oh! you were talking about mods; I thought you were making a reference to a rather vague flex. Anyway, it seems to me that this is well within the "expected" behavior for the game; it emulates life yes? But at it's core it's also a game, so the things you can't control directly (like the TLC de-buff) are intended to make life difficult. For reference - you've got 3 things /intentionally/ working against you: 2 Sims that are jealous and 1 TLC de-buff; it's quite the challenge you've selected, by accident or design. I'd say the tension is well within permissible responses. Also, for your information, jealousy usually doesn't end when you go to sleep in real life so count your blessings.
