Could not find the climbing gear option

Hi ๐Ÿ™‚

Help me. I have problems on climbing mountain. There is no option for me to have to buy climbing gear. I have updated all my mods. This are one of the problems I faced in Snowy Escape EP.

  • Hi @mohammadali118 I just checked, as I have a sim in the Snowy Escape world atm.. Can confirm I have the option in the 'order' menu, for the Adventure Gear (also with a sim in a 'regular world).

Some extra tips on finding the culprit cc/mod follows:

    Spoiler
Apart from culling your folders one by one, or the  50/50 method, to narrow down the broken cc or mod, that is all you can do, as you'll simply need to find the broken mod/cc it and remove it.. Restarting and checking your game each time during the culling process, including deleting the localthumbcache.package in your Sims4 folder each time)

Mods and CC require maintenance to keep them in your game, if the modder has not updated it after a game patch/update it may be broken. The process of culling & removing it, to find the broken mod is the only option though, you'll find it won't be 'all of them' but a few or even just 'one'..

After every patch or game update, this is a necessary process, to add your mods back to your game, folder by folder and starting it each time to test to see if it's ok to play. (nb: you should keep them separated for ease of checking, btw)

      • I also use Sims 4 Studio for batch fixes, as it solves a lot of problems in bulk (but not all.) It's also available for Mac. And is updated frequently, with pack relevant bug fixes.

Some mods have had multiple updates, this patch.. UI Cheats Ext, for example, & MCCC also had another only today, if you use that..

    Hope this helps.

  • @mohammadali118 Your Sims need to have some experience in climbing before they can purchase climbing gear. Take them on a couple of hikes through the park Hanamigawa Koen and let them also use the stairs out there. You can also buy a climbing wall when you have the Fitness pack. This can help you Sims to obtain the necessary skills to buy all the equipment.

    Have fun playing. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I had thought of that also, however.. my sims have no "Rock Climbing", climbing ability.. it's still an available option to purchase the gear

Excerpt from Carls Sims 4 Guide

    Spoiler

In order to summit Mt. Komorebi, you explicitly require each Sim to have level 6 Rock Climbing, because the final wall is so high. Therefore, your expedition leader and any Sims that come with you should already be trained in Rock Climbing Skill.

Because starting the event will make you start at the Onsen on Mt. Komorebi, you need to first purchase Climbing Gear using a computer. Find this in the Order menu. Each kit costs $450 Simoleons. These actually feature a durability system, so using one for a very long time will require you to purchase new climbing gear or else be using inferior equipment.

  • Hi๐Ÿ™‚

I am going to try the 50-50 method way, does CAS of stuff items also need to remove?

  • Hi๐Ÿ™‚

Just to update. I have remove mods affecting the problem. (picture). But although, I still have problem sims cant sit on the couch/sofa that I placed on platform. But they can sit on single chair though. Is it a bug or something I have to do as well for my CC? cause for now I only manage to check my mods. lol

Hi, @mohammadali118 Glad you found the problem, as for the other issue, perhaps, and depends where/how the sofa is placed, as for your cc.. tbh you don't have a lot of folders to worry about imo... so:

    1. Remove all to the desktop
    2. Delete this file (as it has residual effects on your game, Origin 're-make' this file each time) localthumbcache.package you can find it in Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4
    3. Put the Folders back, the cc ones (since your mods folders are tested? still leave the mods out), then, one at a time: ie: first cc folder, start game see if the problem exists.. then thest the next folder and so on.
    4. When you find the folder you think has the problem, you'll need to test, 1 cc at a time, or a bunch #5/10.. (really depends how many, etc)

Also, note.. some of the mods you have, have had more than a few updates this patch.. so also check for the new versions of them:

  • If you have Kawaii Stacie's education mod, uninstall it. Part of it is broken which is affecting the computer menu.
