Cow stuck in household inventory

With the cottage living pack, I purchased a cow and tried to assign it to a shed but it's not showing up on my lot. I tried assigning it to the shed again and it wouldn't even let me click on it the second time. I've tried using cheats, buying a new shed, bought a second cow to see if that would work but that one isn't showing up on my lot either so now I have two cows stuck in my household inventory...
