Crashing When Fairies Change Form

I've found a bug that's been persistent for the past few days. I have a household with several fairy sims, and sometimes when they switch between human and fairy forms, the game outright crashes. I've found this happens in a specific situation, namely when they're being switched to human form from fairy form, but the visuals don't load (leaving them with just no wings but otherwise visually still in fairy form), and you try to tell them to change into human form again. I've gotten in the habit of saving the game before changing their forms just in case. I do use mods, but after testing without them installed, it didn't crash the game...but it did make my poor sim into a weird hybrid of her human and fairy form. Here are screenshots, first of the "hybrid", then her fairy form, then her human form.

    it seems that if it doesn't crash without mods/cc, then it's likely a mod issue and not a game one.

    Can you test the hybrid issue on a new save game with an empty mods folder ?

    This happened to me twice and I don't have mods and have never had mods. I can't replicate it but there is a small chance the game will crash whenever you transform. I don't think it's caused by your mods but the mods just allow it to be more common.

    I think its an issue with the game because it's happened to me too without any mods.

    Andreus64​ what platform are you playing on ? Which part do you see ? Crashing or issues with visuals ?

    Could you post your Computer's DxDiag (or mac specs if you're on a mac)

    - Press Windows-Key + R
    - Type: DxDiag
    - Click on Save all Information.
    - Attach the Text File to your post

    Turbodriver actually did some testing, this DOES happen without mods.  Specifically what is happening is that if a Sim has a skin overlay of any kind (rock climbing gear is an easy non-mod method to test and how they did so) it's not applying it properly if the fairy sim's human skin color and fairy skin color do not match.   Other occults do not have this issue, only fairies.  As for Turbodriver making a mod to fix (as it's a serious issue for those who use Turbodriver's primary mods) it's apparently something a modder cannot fix, or they would.  This is 100% on EA.

    Until then, the only workaround to guarantee you do not crash is to make sure that your human and fairy form skin tones match.  It bites to be unable to change the fairy skin tone, but it's better than crashing.

    On the bright side, Turbodriver did do a formal bug report, and it's finally (as of two months ago) been set to under investigation.  So there is hope.
