Do butlers "retire"?

I decided to try hiring a butler for the first time. he does a great job and the family he's with really loves him.. however.. it seems he is retiring/quitting (there's no notif about him doing this and seemingly no reason either) after a certain amount of time? everything i read says the butler should live with the family indefinitely until he's dismissed/fired or dies, but he will suddenly lose his "Butler" status and ill be sent a new one... even with him still in the house! Do they "retire" after a certain amount of time? ☹️ How can I prevent this nd keep this butler?

  • @plsnt_nightmares I understand what you're saying as I enjoy the butler who has been in most of my sim households also. Perhaps you could roll back to a save before the notice of him retiring came and turn off aging for non-played sims?

    1. Open your game options. This is the white ... in the upper right-hand corner.
    2. Go to the Gameplay tab.
    3. Find the dropdown for "Auto Age (Played Sims)". ...
    4. Uncheck "Auto Age (Unplayed Sims)" to prevent other Sims from aging. ...
    5. Click Apply Changes to save your changes.
