Does the Base Game have public events?
I've recently jumped into the Sims 4, with the only other the Sims game I've played being the original 'the Sims' (along with the Livin' Large, House Party, and Hot Date expansions). Various YouTube channels have highlighted festivals and activities in the overall world that are accessible through having certain content (such as City Living).
I'm enjoying the learning curve, as there is a lot that has been added over the lifetime of the entire series.
There aren’t public events with the base game, but your sim can host social events, such as a birthday party, dinner party, house party or a wedding to invite other sims to. As you saw on YouTube, you need other packs such as City Living or Snowy Escape or Cottage Living for festivals.
