There is only one vacation rental which do not have an elevator. There are two residental penthouse apartments that do have one of the new elevators. Is it one of these you refer to?

The elevator isn't gone. You added the room with the elevator to the rental unit which means that only when playing as the renter will you be able to see it. In the future you may want to keep it as part of the shared space so you can see it when you visit.
@jpkarlsen thank you. And yeah I figured it out. I had to mark the area as shared so I could use it when I visited because I couldn't go upstairs either when the tenants called me for something. @rekellis here's your reply
what do you mean mark the area as shared? even in free build i couldn’t add the elevator & it wouldn’t let me exit build mode because there was no elevator so i had to exit the game without saving🤦🏼♀️
