empty neighborhood - long, epic life

I'm playing Sims 4 on console in epic mode. I extended the lives of the sims several times and reached the point where almost all the sims in the area died. 

I tried to save the family to the gallery and download it using a new save game, but unfortunately all the equipment (including all collections) is lost.

Is there any way to make a family of sims with all their equipment available in the gallery?Alternatively, is there any other way to transfer the family to a new save game with all the families originally included in the game?

    The only way I know you can save their equipment, is to build a single room, place all of the stuff you wish to keep, (you can even put cherished photos and degrees on the walls inside) then upload the room to the gallery.  Make certain you click on the room symbol and highlight the room itself, before you upload it.

    As for keeping the families, starting a New Game and placing your family back into the same world will find the original families in the game. Unless you are able to and don't mind using mods, MCCC will allow you to reconnect them as friends, etc. Otherwise, you're going to have to cultivate the relationships all over again.
