Hello fellow Simmers,

I've been enjoying The Sims 4's "Growing Together" pack, which introduced the adorable feature of infants and back carriers. However, I've noticed a minor inconvenience when it comes to handling infants outdoors, and I have a suggestion that could enhance our gameplay experience.

Current Situation: Currently, when Sims go outdoors while holding infants, they tend to place them on the ground, which doesn't seem safe or practical.

Suggestion: I propose a change in functionality that, when Sims go outdoors with infants in their hands, it should disallow placing them on the ground but automatically put them in the back carrier if the Sim needs to free up their hands. This would not only make our gameplay more realistic but also ensure the safety of our virtual infants.

Benefits of this Change:

  1. Realism: The change would make the game feel more realistic as parents typically wouldn't place infants on the ground when going outside.

  2. Convenience: It would be more convenient for Sim parents as they could carry out outdoor activities without worrying about the infant's safety.

  3. Enhanced Gameplay: This change would add depth to the parenting experience, making it more engaging and enjoyable.

How it Could Work: When a Sim carrying an infant goes outdoors, the game could automatically trigger an animation where the Sim places the infant into the back carrier. When the Sim returns indoors, the infant can be taken out of the carrier automatically.

I believe this small adjustment would enhance our Sims 4 experience, especially for those of us who love playing with families and focusing on realistic family dynamics. I hope the developers consider implementing this change in a future update.

Please share your support for this idea if you agree, and let's make The Sims 4 parenting even more delightful! Thank you!

I have never ever seen people put their infants in a carrier if they are just going out in their garden. So where is it you say that is common?
