Everyone thinks they have the kleptomaniac trait
I have a bug where sims will steal stuff and they will reset whislt talking.

@daughtermitchell Do you own the Eco Lifestyle pack? If so, can you check to see if the "Sharing is Caring" NAP is active in your neighborhood? This NAP will cause Sims to steal items as if they all had the Klepto trait. You can repeal that NAP through normal game-play or you can instantly repeal it with testingcheats on and Shift + Click on the community voting board.
I'm just a regular Sims player, I do not work for EA.
I have eco-lifestyle and that is not active. This started happening for me with the inventory update
What fixes have you already tried? Have you tried repairing your game through Origin?
Also, do you use any mods or CC?
