Everything breaking?

Hired a butler since my sim had twins unexpectedly and now everything in my lot keeps breaking, sometimes all at once. Thought maybe my butler was evil so I fired him and hired a new one, same thing. Butler travelled with child to getaway camp and all appliances there also broke. I play on PC, have all updates, and mods are off.

 Edit: upon switching control back to main household and then back to child at camp, all appliances fixed. broken appliances may be repaired or replaced but when trying to use fairy ability it said “set to broken” when already broken
