Faux Meat Cubes Exclusion in Cottage Living

Faux meat cubes should be considered meat substitute for simple living. Now, there are no recipes that include faux meat cubes, and anything that requires a meat substitute won't recognize the faux meat cubes I already had as an alternative meat product. An oversight I'd like remedied, anyway.

Edited to add: I now see that you turn meat cubes into meat substitutes with canning, which should be optional, not required. BUT meat walls no longer produce meat cubes at all, so that's a bust.

  • Yeah, I was all set to make a shiny new bug report until I found this post.

So, yes, you can turn the faux meat cubes into meat substitute with canning, BUT, if you also have mushroom, aubergine, or soy bean in the fridge it seems like those are preferred. In order to get my Sim to actually use a faux meat cube to make a meat substitute via canning, I had to put the faux meat cubes in her inventory and put everything else in the fridge into her daughter's inventory, then put it all back in the fridge after Mom started cooking. This is... less than optimal, in my opinion, because I can use mushrooms, aubergines, and soy beans in other recipes while the faux meat cubes have been completely nerfed and no longer count as "food" without canning if you have Cottage Living.

I guess I'll just clean out the fridge any time I have a faux meat cube to process? ugh.

  • And now with Werewolves, we have:

    Faux meat cubes

    Meat substitute

    Raw meat

    Wrapped white meat

    Wrapped red meat

I appreciate the recipes that say "any meat". Can we limit ourselves to "red meat" "white meat" "any meat" and "meat substitute"? Please?

    Addendum.
And now my non-werewolf is eating Raw Meat in preference to all the nice things she's been cooking. The fridge has mushroom soup and veggie yakisoba, both at 'excellent' quality, but what has she grabbed for breakfast? Raw meat.
