First person camera not working anymore

So the first person camera hot keys (shift + tab) no longer work in my game. It just enters regular freecam mode that tab does. I also can’t switch to sims 3 camera with the hot keys for that either (I can change the camera through the icon in the top right but it’s annoying to have to do that!). 
I don’t know exactly when this started but it’s for sure been months. It’s one of those things where you randomly go to use it one day and “oh, that’s not working anymore?” So I don’t know if it’s a computer update or maybe EA app update that caused this to happen 🤷‍♂️

Im on Mac playing through the EA app. I’ve tried without mods. Tried repairing. Tried changing my computer’s keyboard to a couple different layouts. I don’t know what else to do but I really miss the hot keys! Any suggestions?

    CGrant56thanks for your response. I tried taking out “the sims 4” folder then running the game to get a new one like you suggested. The hotkeys are still not working, even with everything fresh 😕

    AL40491  I suggest you try resetting your user folder.  All you need to do is rename "The Sims4" folder or move it out of the game path.  Then start the game.  A new one will be created.  After you go through making the sim and placing them, enter the lot and test to see if it is still happening.  If not, them save and quit.  Next step is to move or copy your saves, tray and mods folder from the old folder to the new one.  If you want to save the screenshots, then move that folder too.  And if you use any overrides, then the configoverride folder too.  Same with the video and custom music folders.

    If that doesn't work, then try a game repair.  Or a full uninstall/reinstall.  If you have to do that, then the only thing left is that it's something in the save.  Then you'll have to make a decision to either keep playing the save as it is or start a new one.
