Foundation and basement construction glitch?

I have a question Sims 4 : What is happening, a new phenomenon - Every time I want to make a basement under a house that is level with the ground, it changes the height of the ground if the basement extends further than the edge of the foundation of the house. Is this a glitch and how to fix it, or does it have to be like this - because it was NOT like this before ???

  • @Kittekass Just go down to the basement and grab the big arrow and drag it down. Once you grab the arrow, you can go back to the first floor and watch as you drag the basement down until the terrain around the house is flat again.

    Hope this helps

  • It’s not a glitch  in The Sims 4, terrain rising under your house when you dig a basement with walls reaching the ground-level foundation is “by design.

How to avoid it: lower the basement “block” manually (use the floor-level slider) so it sits under ground level before you build — this prevents the terrain from lifting.
