Fridge and food issues. No 'Grab Serving' option

My sims are having trouble with fridges. When the 'Get Leftovers' command is used, they will walk up to the fridge but refuse to open it. Or, if they do, they will hold their hand out like they are h...

I just bought Adventure Awaits and now I can't drag food into the fridge. There have been a couple of times they wouldn't get food after I clicked 'open fridge' and then selected a food too. The bubble pops up for them to do it but then they act like it isn't accessible and the action goes away
