Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? by trying to upload anything from CAS
What happens when the bug occurs? When you try to upload to the gallery from CAS it says the name of the sim, no matter what name is disallowed.
What do you expect to see? I should be able to just upload from CAS.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

No matter what I change my Sims name to I cannot upload the sims to the gallery. This is just one example of one household but it's happening to me and my friends no matter who we try to upload or what the name is. I first tried to upload with names I have made, and when it didn't work, I used the in-game randomizer for first and last names. It still didn't work.

I first had this particular issue with ordinary names in the households description being called "bad words" on 5/23/24. Yes, I've had weird Galley/name issues in the past but not like this.
So on 5/23, I saved four sims/households to my Library. They are siblings with the same last name. I usually name the households with First & Last names.
(listed in the order that I shared them)
1, Alexander, shared with no problems.
2, Cassandra is a bad word, but only in the description (not in the household name or the sims name in CAS).
3, Derek is a bad word, but only in the description.
4, Fiona is a bad word, but only in the description.
Okay so next batches (I'm doing a breeding project (TS2 PV families with new last names) so I have a bunch to share) and each batch of 3 or 4 siblings were shared at different times (usually a few hours between).
I'm pretty sure my "McKay Triplets" household with Angela, Danny & Lilith shared without trouble. - - Just checked and they shared without issue.
Then,
1, Lucy, shared with no problems.
2, Mike is a bad word, but only in the description.
3, Norman is a bad word, but only in the description.
4, Natalie is a bad word, but only in the description.
Then,
1, Don is a bad word, but only in the description.
2, Eddie is a bad word, in CAS & the Household name (not sure about the description because I automatically did my workaround and didn't fully read the bad words message when it first popped up over his name).
3, Elsie is a bad word, but only in the description.
My workaround is to add _ (or a space) between letters (ex: E_l_s_i_e).
I often start my descriptions like this:
"Don is the son of Nicolo & Adriana Maynard"
Weirdly enough, I haven't had any last names be called "bad words" in the past couple days, just their first names and like I said, only in the description (except for Eddie).
Anytime I try to upload anything to the gallery or save a build my sims keeps giving me an error message saying the sever cant process it. I've tried literally everything from troubleshooting to resetting my entire computer. I run the game on Mac
The Gallery won't let me upload a Sim with "he/him" pronouns.
Now it was telling me that the name was not allowed. I tried to reupload my selfsim, and thought it was because of my nick, so I changed the name to "D. M." instead, and it was still not allowed. I tried multiple times, and now the name is ok, but something in description is not allowed, can't figure out what anyways, because everything should be fine.
I can't upload a group of sims to the gallery. I keep getting the "disallowed name" error message (I've changed the names several times).
My game is in french. We don't have pronouns in the Sims 4 in french.
I tried to upload from my library, and from CAS. Same problem.
Thank you for your answer Crin. I tried to change the description, I also tried to delete it. Still got the error "disallowed sim name" message. I then tried to change the title. Tried of course different names for my sims. Went into their orientations and changed things to see if it could help. But still no luck. A friend of mine, who is playing in french too, could not upload her household yesterday with this same problem. Today she tried again, she did not change anything, and it worked. It seems totally random.
Same thing happened to me too last night. I tried to upload and it keep showing me disallowed words error even how hard i try to correct my description even I remove everything, name my sim "good good" and the upload name "good". It still shows disallowed words error
This name bug is so random it's crazy.
I created two characters from the anime Sailor Moon, where one is named Mamoru Chiba, and the other Motoki Furuhata. When trying to share it to the gallery, they complain that the name contains disallowed words.
Those deciding what is allowed and not as words/names should maybe reflect on the fact that different countries have different names. Both names are literally from a comic meant for young teens, which do not mean anything dirty, vulgar or whatever the game somehow thinks they mean.
I have made both these characters many years ago, and didn't have any problems then, so I don't know what happened, but I'm starting to get these messages more often, especially when making Japanese themed characters.
I want to get an answer as to why? And if it can get fixed?
Community ManagerSo I'm trying to post a lot that I made to the gallery and it keeps coming up with the error message that I have a banned word but I can't figure out what it is. The description is: A cozy 2 bedroom cottage farm, built over a waterfall. Your sims will be able to both fish and farm on this lot, as well as interact with bunnies and a flock of wild birds. It comes furnished with a spellcaster's study which includes a cauldron for all your witchy needs This build was a shell challenge by @PandaDisturbed, which fit perfectly over the waterfall. please let me know if you have any issues #shellchallange #cottagecore
