Game constantly freezes and other issues
My game has been completely unplayable for weeks now. The game freezes (but the sounds of time progressing are still audible) ALL THE TIME.
It seems to happen when I move the camera to the same section of specific lots. For example, I can play unpaused and move around on the right side of one lot but as soon as I move the camera towards the left, the whole game freezes. I can hear the sound effects as if the game is continuing and the mouse icon changes to interact with objects but the visual is frozen.
I don't play with CC or mods and I've downloaded all the add-ons through the EA App since the transfer from Origin. I've repaired the game and created a fresh Sims 4 folder (multiple times to test different saves). I thought this was working at first and I was able to move in a household from the gallery. Turning on move objects and placing the lot I had been living in caused the issues to start again so I deleted the entire save and tried again with just the household, not the lot. I rebuilt the lot using move objects and as soon as I unpaused and tried to move the camera, it froze again.
I was able to play through a few days in windowed mode, making sure not to use move objects in build mode. I traveled the library and Willow Creek and the lot never loaded. I force quit the game and have not been able to play. In some cases, the bugged lots show up as black squares on the map, but not always.
This happens with the 3 save files I use the most in my original game file. One is my legacy family that I had living in a 4 unit apartment when issues began. Another save is a tiny town that I have built up from 1 unit to 6 on a residential rental lot. I know there are issues with residential rentals and I wonder if one of these saves became corrupted and infected the rest of my game. But it persists in a fresh file. If that's what happened initially, are the households and lots I saved to my gallery unusable too?
