Game in Unplayable as of 04/08/24
Hi, ever since the latest update, playing the Sims 4 on my PC, I can't seem to:
- start a new game (after selecting start a new game, the screen becomes all white and then after 5 seconds it crashes)
- load any of my saved games (goes to the screen selection of choosing a season to play in, once season has been chosen, it then prompts me to select a place to live with 0$ funds with no family selected, nor can am I able to click on 'manage households' on the top right, because it says 'unavailable while moving')
- resume game (The game failed to Save. Please exit to the Main Menu and then click Play to reload the game. Error code: 22)
- play a scenario (stuck at loading screen once I choose a scenario and a residential lot)
- update and save my settings upon restart (after I restart my game, the settings revert back to my old settings before the update occurred)
- enable mods in game options (when I click on the option to 'enable mods' there would be a check mark and then it would be undone immediately)
- receive sims delivery (an unknown error has occurred. Code: 00000008:00000000000000c8)
I've looked on a couple of forum posts on possible solutions and have tried the following with no avail:
- remove mods from the mod folder
- delete localthumbscache.package file
- repair my game through EA
- recover save and then load game from that recovered save (the recovered save wouldn't even generate)
This is the first time I'm reporting this bug, because this is the first time I've encountered such a bug that renders the game entirely unplayable.
Hopefully, the team can find a solution for this asap, as I was really looking forward to giving The LoveStruck Expansion a try!
