You'll need to re-add the trait via cheat and then remove it again.
Unfortunately, this didn't work. I re-added it in 'cas full edit' for several hours, then removed it. But the next day (sim time), she is tense again from not fulfilling materialistic desires.
You need to use the trait cheat. Cas is what bugs it.
You will probably need to temp remove one of your others
- traits.remove_trait Foodie
- traits.equip_trait Materialistic
- traits.remove_trait Materialistic
- traits.equip_trait Foodie
