Game stuck in "Eviction" Event

My sims own a sharehouse in Britechester that has 3 rooms that are rented out. My sims live on a separate lot. Today, one of the tenants violated the "No Trash Overload" rule. My sim went into labour just as this was happening, so I travelled to the rental with them so they could give the tenant the fine. (Idea was that this would be quick and then we could go to the hospital). The tenant refused to pay, so I used the social menu to justly evict him. The event with the timer came up in the corner and once the time was up, I had a notification saying that the eviction was happening and that I'd be returned to my home lot. I clicked the tick button in this pop up notification and then tried to go to the hospital for my sim to have her baby, but the game is stuck in the Eviction state, so I can't leave the lot, can't enter manage worlds and I can't exit without losing my progress. I ended up sending her to the hospital alone to have her baby, but after that happened it brought her right back to the rental lot. Their baby is in daycare. I've tried evicting the tenant again and again through the social menu, I can't evict him through the businesses tab because the button is gone. It's been 2 sim days now and I still can't leave the lot. My sims can't go to work. Their baby is having it's birthday. Help!
