Game will not start up after life and death update

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Not sure
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expansion packs game packs- werewolves, wedding stories, dream home decorator, parenthood, dine out, spa day, outdoor retreat. Stuff packs- home chef hustle, tiny living, laundry day, backyard stuff, my first pet, toddler stuff, movie hangout, bowling night, spooky stuff, paranormal, kids room, nifty knitting. Kits- poolside splash, grunge revival, simtimates, pastel pop, first fits.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When clicking the play button to launch the game
What happens when the bug occurs? I click the play button to launch my game, and the blue loading screen pops up but my cursor does not change to the Sims 4 cursor, the sims start up music does not play, and it stays on the blue loading screen.
What do you expect to see? The plumb bob should pop up and the start up music should be playing. And it should load the start up screen where I can see all of my saves and actually enter the game.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

I have tried every troubleshooting option I can and am at a loss of what to do
