Get to work feedback

Hello to all.

Just adding some thoughts. I have a female sim in the doctor's career, who is pregnant at this time. Well, when I state that there are useless rules that the Xbox and other systems have to read and execute, this is what I'm referring to.

1st example? In the doctor career, I have reached level 6, I can now diagnose the gender of another pregnant sim's baby. I did some research. This ability can only be used at the hospital while working, and can only be performed on other sims, no self diagnose. So I have to wait for a pregnant sim to come in, while in labor, to use this ability. And what pregnant sim is going to care about their baby's gender while in labor? A rather useless reward that was given. I could take it or leave, in its present format. This is a game of building, modification, so on and so forth. But the creators have given rewards that are useless, another rule clogging up the Xbox and other systems, limiting our ability to change or discover. They could have left rule out of the game, making room for the gaming systems to work smother. Or made the rule actually useful, allowing it to be used anywhere and with self diagnose. But they tied our hands. I don't understand their thinking. But I would like to see it changed, so it's actually a useful and a beneficial reward. Otherwise? Remove it, it's just clogging up the game. LOL.

Second example? In the scientific career, there are machines that only the scientist can use. But any sim can build and launch a rocket, even if they are not in the space career. If my sim is smart enough to do rocket science, then shouldn't they be able to do any science, control any scientific machine? Locking the scientific machine for scientists only, is just another unnecessary rule clogging up the gaming systems. And this machine that I'm referring to, can be placed upon any lot, just like the rocket. In my understanding, there shouldn't be any item(s) that is locked for any sim. I believe that all items should be unlocked for any sim to place and use. But the reward should only be, that if a sim doesn't finish the career milestone, they have to pay full price for the item. But if the sim does finish the career milestone, they get the item for free. But any sim should be able to have and use any item. Now my believe and understanding is this? The rule will be more simplified, making the gaming systems work smoother, and by extension, the game will work smoother.

This is a game of discovery, growth, building, creation, so on and so forth, correct? So why did the creators put all of these rules to stop us from doing the thing that they wanted to give us, by adding these rules that block us at almost every turn? And in effects, causing the gaming systems to work harder and even malfunction.

Well, I truly hope that this gets passed to the upstairs people, and they listen to this advice, and make the changes so game works better and makes sense. Please don't tell me to build, only to tie my hands. LOL

Well, here's to hoping? A good day and my best wishes to all!!! See you in the funny papers. LOL.

  • Hello to all.

Some more thoughts? I have read that the newest update allows us to add color to the ceilings. Why? There is no real good way of seeing the ceilings. I don't even know how to use the free camera tool, and I can't find anything about it in lessons section of the game. So, here's a useless rule and tool, that will be clogging up the already over tasked gaming systems. Maybe I just don't understand the thinking of these creators? But it seems to me, more and more, everyday, that they are trying to ruin this game. For what reason I don't know. This could be one of the greatest games ever created, but they are just ruining it. Can someone explain this? Personally? I would love to go into the Xbox's store application, and give every DLC and the game, 5 star ratings, across the board. But I haven't been given any good reason to do that.

Painting the ceilings? Who cares. Did you fix the computers in the scientific career, that can't be repaired, even though I have daily task to get it done? Did you fix the transportation, where the sims won't get off the catamaran, or the bicycles that the sims are driving through building, to go 3 feet? How about fixing the bikes, when I tell the sim to jog to a location, but they ride the bike? The sims don't even recognize the commands that were given. But you gave me the ability to paint ceilings? Please, at the very least, explain this method of thinking to me?

A good day and my best wishes to all.

Get To Work is one of the first expansions to come along. It is old and has needed help in some things for a while... as a lot of packs do but are never addressed. The things you mentioned likely never came to mind to them or they didn't get much feedback/complaints about it.

I recall having such a problem with the science career, but it just never occurred to me to report/complain about it. I may not have even been on this board back then. I just thought, "Well that is stupid." and carried on.

It would be nice if they had a small team designated to fix the older game packs. Get To Work is cool, but there are things that could be tweaked and from what I know, the Detective Career in it has been needing fixing since it came out. Dine Out needs fixing the most, though.

The painted ceilings has been a highly sought after request from the community since the beginning - like spiral stair cases... This comes from many who mainly build in the Sims 4 and those who love to take great image shots. You can see the ceilings depending on the camera you use. A lot of builders prefer the Sims 3 styled one, where you can often see the ceiling. First person mode also can lead to you seeing the ceiling.

If anything, a lot of Simmers likely considered it something to celebrate since it took over 8 years to get this request implemented.
