Giving Sims a Key
Sul! Sul! OK. It does not make sense to me that even if you give a Sim a Key to your residence, you still have to keep the door unlocked or they cannot enter. Shouldn't that be the entire point of gi...
@SimGirl70 I see the logic, but in terms of gameplay what giving a sim a key means is that they will occasionally show up without warning or even knocking and just walk right in (without knocking) and make themselves at home getting food or drinks or playing on the computer or whatever. As opposed to non-household sims normally who will stay outside and knock until you go talk to them.
Actually locking a door means Sims it’s locked for can’t go through it, even if they’re in the household and presumably would have a key. You can use this to restrict access to an office or bedroom, for example. I wouldn’t want anyone I gave a key to to be able to get through every locked door on my lot when even my own Sims can’t. Maybe if they could restrict it to just the front door?
But a better idea, I think, would be to leave the giving a key interaction as is but add friends to the lock/unlock for options. Or I suppose even just add key holders to the lock/unlock for options.
