Help and Online Game Guide?
Is there an online game play guide for the Sims 4? I have all game expansions and stuff packs currently out except the brand new stuff pack. I need to learn how to move Sims from one family and into...
@TxGrammy2, the best guide for the Sims 4 is Carl's Sims 4 Guide.😇 He as recently also created guide videos as well.:eahigh_file: Here is the link:
https://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/
He has guides for various aspects of the games as well as cheats and more!
As for moving Sims from one household into a new one, I haven't split households in a while, so let me go into the game for a bit so I can tell you correctly how to do it! ...
Edit Update: I think there might be more than one way to move out Sims from an existing household into a new one, but here is the way I did it in the past.🙂
1) From the Main Menu, load the Save Game with the household you want to split
2) From the Map Screen/Manage Worlds screen select the household you want to split but don't enter their house in Live Mode. Instead of clicking on the Play arrow button in the bottom right corner, click on the button that looks like 3 dots (the leftmost button of the 3 buttons left of the Play arrow). This button should say "More" when you hover your cursor over it.
3) Next, click on the button that says "Manage Household" and looks like 2 people with a pencil.
4) From here there might be more than one way to split your household, but the way I did it is to click on the button with the arrows going left and right. This is called "Transfer Sims Between Households"
5) Next this will bring up the "Household Split and Merge screen. From here again you have several choices. You can click on the very top button called "Create New Household" that looks like a person with a + plus sign . You can choose this but it will put your Sims you move out into the "Not in World" status, which means they will be in your game going to the park or festivals, etc. but you wont' see them in a house that you can play. Since I do not remember how to get Sims that "aren't' in the world" into a house, I chose a different way to give them a house...
I select which house I want them to live in that already has people living in it (I will remove the current residents later) You can choose the current neighborhood or any one you want. So, if you want them to live in the Goth mansion for example, you would choose to move them in with the Goths by doing all the steps you did above, but instead of pressing the "Create New Household" button in step 5, you would choose the "Other Households" tab and then choose Willow Creek and then click on the Goths. This brings you to the scree where you can select which Sims you want to move out Click on each portrait of the Sims from the left side that you want to move out, and then click the arrow pointing to the right side with the Goths. When all your people that you want to move out are transferred to the new household you can click the check mark at the bottom.
If you don't want to play with the household you moved them in with (in my example the Goths), you can go through steps 1 through 5 and this time click that "Create New Household" button to remove the Goths from the house where they will be "Not in the World" but still in your game.
I realize this is very convoluted. There might be an easier way to do it, but I'm having problems placing households that aren't' in the world into the world.😳 I will poke around and see if I can find a simpler way to do it, but at least you have one way to go about it. 😉
@Psychotps, yes! I agree! Carl's is the best! ❤️ Even without the videos his Guide was excellent, but now that he's doing videos it is even better! :eahigh_file:
Thanks for reaching out to me. Often times I think I must be the eldest person ever to play this game. I dabble in playing and relax and really enjoy myself when I design, build and decorate my own houses. I also like downloading and checking out others lots too just to see the different styles and incredible ideas Simmers come up with. Extremely talented folks really thrive at this game. Again, I appreciate the guidance and Happy Simming to you too!
@TxGrammy2, you are not even close to being the oldest person who plays The Sims! 😃 The Sims is one of those rare games that appeals to people of all ages. There is something in the game for everyone! 🥳 I know several people older than you who are passionate about the game! ❤️
I find that when I have a really bad day, the thing that works best to snap me out of a negative head space is to play the Sims!❤️ (That's not to say I don't also play in when I'm having a fantastic day, it is just that I find The Sims works best for getting me back on track again! :eahigh_file: )
I'm glad you enjoy the game so much and please feel free to ask any questions you might have, or to help any other people with the knowledge you have gained! 😇
