ok hi! I just got my MacBook Air today. I am playing sims right now.. But it is frustrating me bc I can't seem to figure out how to let her go to the bathroom or shower etc.. I will click on the bath...
@alexisjackson19 I'm sorry to hear of your frustration and hope you will quickly get used to the game so your enjoyment increases! Sims is a ton of fun, and you will likely get accustomed to it quite quickly, so take heart! 🙂
I've found that sometimes if a sim need(s) gets too low the sim can get a bit annoying to direct and occasionally won't even follow your direction. (For instance, if the bladder is so low that is it super red and just a hair from the bottom, there may be a good chance that it's too late, they are extremely uncomfortable, and they will do nothing when you ask them to go to the toilet ...then they just pee their pants. At that point you just need to deal with the fact that they're extremely sad/embarrassed and need a long shower and try to get them in a good mood with positive needs and move on from there. On the other hand, if their hunger gets too low it can possibly be life threatening. It's best to keep all needs in the green if possible.
The pause button is your new best friend. Use the pause a lot and go slowly to get used to the game and how to monitor/direct them as needed. I always play with sims on 'autonomous' in the game's settings (so that most of the time when they need to pee they just head to a bathroom, etc.).
When their needs are all in the green they do pretty decently (though not entirely) at taking care of many of their needs, as long as there are no environmental barriers to doing so (ie... if there is food, a toilet and shower/bath, a bed that they have claimed and can sleep in, etc., that they can access). ...Or at least this is the case to some degree, as a number of factors can come into play, as you will learn.
