Hidden Mess!
My sims are forever uncomfortable in the upstairs living room because of trash somewhere. I imagine it’s a pile of pet fur. The place is so cluttered, rugs all over the floors... how do I find this s...
@KushKylie, I talked to another person and they have once had this problem where the smell was from one of the little live aliens that are in the fishtanks that you can get by either exploring space in the rocket ship, or working at the laboratory if you have Get to Work. Apparently they can put out little puffs of "smoke" that is smelly and Sims nearby can act as if they are smelling a bad smell. So if you have any of those, at least the live ones, that could be the culprit!
Also, is there a chance you could have built or placed your house on a trash plant? The same person who told me about the little alien, also had once built a house on a trashplant that was spawning ,and had to save her house to her Library, and then get rid of the floor and delete the trash plant.🤨😃
I have a few weird fish (vampire fish? Or bat fish? I forget... koi, and an angelfish) in the fish tank.
No trash plants, as the penthouse doesn’t have any “ground/earth”.
@burin077 I don’t have parenthood. I’ve turned the place upside down, and haven’t found any hidden “treasures”.
Would the Mosquito plant give off a dirty vibe? I moved the garlic plant outside, so Vlad isn’t bothered by that anymore.
The trash moodlet disappears as soon as they leave the living area, so it’s not a frozen moodlet.
At this point it just seems like there's something overall wrong with the room itself; only thing I can think of at this time would be to delete/re-create the room.
Make sure when you recreate the room, that walking into the room doesn't still trigger the Uncomfortable Moodlet; if it does, I don't really know how else to help at this point.

@KushKylie, thanks for checking your Sims' inventories!🙂 Also, since there was a fire, there might still be a piece of burnt floor that is hidden by something else. 🤨 Depending on the color of the floor, it might not be noticeable to you, (It could also be a burnt shelf or curtain, etc. that you normally don't see with the walls down or partially down. 🤔 There also might be a little bit of hidden ash stuck somewhere, but more likely it is a charred spot of flooring, etc. 😉
I did not even think of that @PugLove888 ; that's a good point.
Burned spots can be a factor if a fire had ever started.

@burin077, yes, and some floor colors/patterns hide burnt spots better than others.😃 But I'm shocked at how often the burnt spot was hidden by a counter, stove, dryer, etc.! 🤨 No matter how often you direct them to clean it, its impossible for them to reach until you move whatever is over the burnt spot in Build/Buy Mode. I don't know if this is @KushKylie 's problem since they said they dismantled the room, but it is worth a try! 😉
