@SheriGR , @PugLove888 I'm with you on drivable cars in Sims 4. Just for the sake of discussion, I can only think of one way they could include them in Sims 4 and I'm not sure it ever would be worth it. There was an old Sims 3 Pets game for XBox 360 that I loved playing when I was a kid. The world in that game (Sugar Maple Coast) was divided into neighborhoods, very similar to Sims 4, and not an open world like those in the PC version of Sims 3. That game did have drivable cars, but the only thing the cars would do is:
- take your Sim from a starting point to the edge of whatever neighborhood they were currently in
- transition to a travel loading screen (like how travel currently works in Sims 4)
- and then from the edge of the new neighborhood to their final destination within that neighborhood
So yeah, a cute animation but no real game-play addition at all. This is the only way I can think of for including drivable cars in Sims 4 and even then it would only be practical for certain worlds and neighborhoods, i.e. only those with roads and where we currently see car animations. It would be kind of cool to be be able to work on cars to increase the Handiness skill and possibly to fix-up clunker cars to sell/earn Simoleans (and maybe get some fixer-upper mood buffs or pride of car ownership buffs). So maybe something for a stuff pack similar to the Sims 3 Fast Lane Stuff pack + the Fixer-Upper Car from the Sims 3 Store.
Btw- that Sims 3 Pets game for XBox 360 had special taxis the pets could ride around in (totally adorable!) and I've always felt that Brindleton Bay was at least partly based on Sugar Maple Coast ;-D
