hobbies and skills not working

I am playing the Sims4 on my PC and I just bought the new hobbies and skills pack. When I go to buy a small business venue, it takes me to the screen where you pick what season you want it to be. Picking a season doesn't work, and I cannot get back to my game when this happens, I have to close and go to main menu.
