Home chef hustle gameplay bugs

Hi! I’ve tried playing with the home chef hustle food stand. No matter the prices, loads of Sims show up, but during each sale only 1-3 items get sold. I keep trying to get my Sim who is tending the stand to do sale pitches or recommend a product, but the Sim just gets to chatting and nothing happens. Just a bunch of chaos but no profit at all. I tried it with different sims, at different lot types and with different products for sale. Really frustrating. In the review videos I’ve seen online things were definitely smoother. I rarely experience bugs, but this is similar to Dine Out for me ☹️

Obviously I don’t know exactly what you’ve tried but I’ve played the sales a few different ways And had the best luck when:

I used a sim with high cooking skill so food quality was higher

    used fresh and prepped ingredients

had a bigger variety as in when my table had pizza, waffles, cookies, and cupcakes. As opposed to a themed table like bake sale, just pizza, or just waffles.

When I did a little of everything I sold like §2000+, when I themed my options it was just a few hundred.

also seemed to do better in the morning, for some reason. And not sure it matters but my sims are in Tartosa selling in front of their home.

  • I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. I've been playing with the new Home Chef Hustle pack and I had my sim sell pizza at a park. Things were going well and she was making good money. I decided to move her into a lot that had a cute little pizzeria with an apartment above it, so that she could sell out of her home but run it as a pizzeria. The amount of money she made selling pizza from home vs. selling on a community lot was vastly different. The income she was bringing in dropped A LOT. It was so much less that I decided to scrap the home business idea and went back to selling pizza at the park. I really wanted to be able to sell food from home, especially if my sim has a family. Is this a bug or was this by design? Why do sims make so much less selling food from home rather than a community lot?

@Brogani1 Did you try more than the one time on the home lot? I’ve not really noticed any difference for where my Sim is; it seems to depend more on the value of the food I made and how much I had available, with some minor fluctuation in how many sales actually happen. Which lot were you using as a home lot? Did you notice any significant lag in how long it took sims to reach your stand when they spawned in for the food sale?

Ok, so it seems that what I was experiencing was a just a glitch.  I tried it again today and my sim was making the usual amount.  I'm still not sure what caused the issue, but so far it seems to be working (fingers crossed).  FYI, I was using the 20 x 20 lot in Magnolia Promenade both times and there didn't seem to be much lag in the time it took for sims to spawn on the lot and make a purchase.
