How can I take my sims to eat at a restaurant?

Hi, I just bought Dine Out expansion pack.

I have already built a restaurant from the gallery, but when I play with my Sim and I choose to travel to that restaurant, there's no hostess or staff, just the building alone, and so, I can't enter or do anything. 

Could you help me please?

    @Al03Br Did you place it as a residential lot instead of a restaurant by mistake. check the lot type sounds like you placed it as a residential lot.

    The comment above may be right, but also, if you own the restaurant, you have to staff it yourself by hiring NPCs.

    @Bethezda Mmm no, I just placed it in the world. I don't want my Sims to own it, I just want to use it to go to eat, like a NPC made restaurant, I don't know If I'm being clear

    @Al03Br Double check in build mode you said in the comment to @Bethezda that you just placed it down that will place it as a residential lot you have to change it to a restaurant because you said your Sims couldn't get inside the only lot type that does that is a residential lot check the lot type.

    @Rachelharris31 I have already checked again. But when my Sims arrive, it looks like the other houses which are not inhabited, so you can't even knock on the door. It's all empty, and there's no way to do anything.
