How do I read LastException?

Not sure if this is the right forum for this topic, but this would be more a technical issue I suppose.

The Sims 4 pops out LastException files whenever there is an error in game, whether or not you use Twisted Mexi's Better Exceptions or Deaderpool's MCCC.

HOW do you read these files? I don't want to be reliant on other modders that may or may not leave the community and have their own agendas about who is "allowed to have their files read" because of fighting between Mod Creators. I know that there are some very questionable modders out there, but at the same time it appears that only an "elite" few are allowed to create mods to read this file.

So EA, how do I read this file so that I can understand whats going on without having to rely on mods or modders from all over the Sims Community? I want to understand what these files are telling me, but they are difficult to understand as a txt file.

  • @Crdroxxpl There are mod related and not mod related LEs. A lot of times if the culprit is a mod, it will be listed in the LE itself. So you can search for clues in there.

Otherwise it's just a lot of hive knowledge. They aren't easy to read but if you practice, you'll start noticing patterns on which LEs are the same as others posted around the internet.

There's also this webseite. https://lastexception.com that can help you but I don't use it much and don't know if it's kept uptodate or what the mechanism behind it are.

You can always ask for help with your LEs here but if you use mods that are 18+ or something very questionable there might not be an answer. Same goes for pirated content.
