Been playing Sims for years so I've gotten that far 😂 there's no pond tool like there was in Sims 3 so still can't figure out how they did it
I can give you four links with video guides which explain better than whatever I could write here:

Thanks, I'll have a look at this. I feel like there should be a way to do it without cheats as it was in a trailer for the game but I'll have a look at doing it this way. Thanks for your help.
Here's the link to the video to give everyone a better idea of what I mean https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=my1m6q90y5E
- 6 years agoHi @cardall23, yes I got what you mean, but in fact, there is no tool for that. What you see on the promo video are "edited" pools and don't think that by using the cheat menu you are cheating... it was built to help developers and that's the way developers create some of the features everybody likes so much.

@cardall23 Certain types of 'build cheats' allow builders to creatively make features that are 'out of the box', and if done responsibly also work correctly with your game. Building a 'pond' per-se is not really one of the options in the game, but it can be achieved in a number of ways.
- One option is to make a pool or fountain that is shaped irregularly, and can have pond features like stone walls, dirt or stone floors, lily-pads, etc. This will not take cheats, just creativity. I would expect this is a fountain, but it could possibly be a pool (what you see here in your trailer that looks like a river). Note: if you make it with pool tools your sim will probably swim in it unless you block it off. Sims don't swim in fountains.:
- Another option is to make a fountain, which this one probably is, as @jpkarlsen mentioned. A fountain is far more shallow than a pool and sims don't swim in it. This one may be a fountain or a pool, but even if it was a 'pool' probably the sims would be blocked by the stones, but you would have to test to be sure in your case. [Note: If this one is a 'pool' the fountains/'water emitters' would have had to be added using the MOO (Move Objects On) cheat, so it's probably a fountain, since it's in the trailer.]:
- You could add a pond from debug using the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat. This is a debug pond(also from the trailer):
- Another possibility is to get extra creative like you will probably see in the videos that @Kabouki1965 shared. An example of ways to make a 'pond' that your sim can swim in:
Note... This is a pool. I added stone walls, a dirt floor, and some rocks to one edge. I enabled the MOO cheat and added 'water emitters' and if I add one of these fishing signs from debug fish will spawn in the water. I'm sure the videos that Kabouki1965 shared have additional details in about how to do this.
You will need to use 'cheats' to do some much of this: https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/pc/how-to-cheat
