How to continue playing after the patch?

My (vanilla) game is in a terrible condition since the patch. No vets to cure my dog, no vendors or clients in any GTW retail store (and this one week before the release of an additional retail pack). Highschool is a mess with only one teen of my twins playable, no vendor for the school cafeteria, pupils just standing still in the rain that is falling inside the building.

I'm scared to ruin my save and don't even dare to finish the Emit quest. Any advice? Do you continue to play and to you think it's safe to add yet another EP?

  • Same things are happening to me.. This is very disheartening. I wish there was a way we could just "remove" the latest patch.

  • I thought this was just me. Is there any solution on what they are doing for the vet issue?

  • Fortunately I'm on vacation next week and hoping for a quick patch. I think with a pet in the household the game has to pause until then.

  • Do any of you play with mods? If so, check and make sure you have the most recent updated version of the mod. Remove your mods folder and see if this helps. If not, then keeping our Mods folder out of the game folder, do a game repair. Sometimes this can 'fix' the problem. Other times, it's a no-go. But, I had a less troubling problem in my game, one I had managed to sort out prior to this latest patch, and het I had to take the steps to fix it all over again.  Then I realized I failed to do the game repair. I did so, returning my game, sans the bug.

I have learned this is a most essential step after a patch. Repair your game. Then you'll know you've done all you can on your side of the issue.

Best of luck to each of you.

  • Awww that sounds seriously bad 😟 I hope it will be fixed soon! I continued playing my main save after the patch, but it felt a bit laggy today. Yet that was the only problem I had.

Maybe you could finish the Emit quest in another save just to be safe?

The main poster states they are a 'vanilla' game player, I am assuming they mean no mods.  I myself have taken all my mods out and reinstalled in preparation for the new xpac, so no idea why I still have this bug.  When I looked into it, I see that there are like 15 pages of forum users having this same issue since the update.  I hope someone actually sees that this issue exists.
