How to get Wolfsbane in Base game (No Cheats)

After the Update on 6/14/2022, Wolfsbane was added to base game. You can get it by cheating for the plant or the seed packets. However I don't want to cheat for it, and want to get it legitimately and complete the plant collection as intended.

The patch notes which added wolfsbane to base game describe how "You may acquire it through cheats or random plant awards." But I couldn't find anything else on what exactly "random plant awards" meant. So I leveled up my Sim to gardening level 10, and opened around 300 of the Rare Seed packets and the Uncommon Seed Packets, and couldn't get the wolfsbane. I then went fishing in both the hidden worlds for multiple sim game days and couldn't get the wolfsbane.

So I don't know if the game is bugged, if it's just extremely rare, or I'm looking in the wrong place. I just would really want some insight into this.

  • @SnwySpiritWolfsbane can be found growing in the world/town of Forgotten Hollow, but you'd need the vampire pack to get there. Considering you only need wolfsbane to cure vampirism or lycanthropy, I think you'd be best to cheat this one if you only need it to complete your plant collection; it seems to be the best way after you've seemingly exhausted your only other possibility.

EDIT 1: If you have the werewolf pack, you can also find it in Moonwood Mill.

EDIT 2: This post describes wolfsbane being found in the "debug" section, which once placed on your lot, I would assume would allow you to plant it and thereby harvest it "naturally" with your sim: https://www.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/vnvnxw/wolfsbane_in_base_game/

    Good luck and happy simming!

  • @SnwySpirit there's a Wolfsbane plant in my garden centre in the Gallery, it's called The Farmer's Market. I've attached an image for you and it's got my screen name on there too. I know content from any packs you don't have will be deleted once the lot is  downloaded but the Wolfsbane plant should still be there for you. I think it's after Growfruit in the household collections list, looking at mine that's the last base game harvestable before it on the list.

If you do download it, it's one of the indoor plants in the greenhouse. No move objects cheat was used to build it but sometimes a message pops up saying it was, just ignore that.

It's an option for you anyway, I hate needing to complete a collection and not being able to find something, that's why I filled the garden centre with every plant in my game.

@LadyAofPineapple had my little typing box open as you were replying, also great suggestions! I don't have Vampires but I do have Werewolves. I got my Wolfsbane from the Cottage Living stalls.

@simsplayer818  i was only able to buy it since werewolves came out. I think in order to buy it you need werewolves or vampires.

  • @SnwySpirit   Hi!  I also tried getting Wolfsbane through purchasing rare and uncommon seeds with no luck.  I'm really not sure what "random plant awards" means either.  Whatever the case, I just shared a room to the Gallery with one pack of Wolfsbane seeds.  If you want to buy it, it's only $490, $240 of which you will get back when you delete the room.  You can search for it in my catalog or try the hashtag search for #Wolfsbane.

  • I also have plants saved to the gallery in  small collections. Vampire plants are saved with the plasma fruit tree, mosquito trap, wolfbane, and a couple of flowering plants.  All have been saved at the perfect stage. All the ingredients you need to make the vampire cure. (game play idea) So if your sim is a vampire hunter you give them the cure and effectively kill a vampire. It is true however if you don't have the Vampire or werewolf pack the plants won't show up for you.

I like saving plants in small amounts so it is easier for whoever downloads them to have room to place them if the lot is crowded.

Kinda fun how we have all come out to sell our wares. LOL

There's nothing more frustrating than that one plant you look everywhere for and bankrupting your poor Sim, ripping open seed packets to no avail. Once I had them all I thought right you little troublemakers I'm planting every single one of you so I don't have this hassle again. My garden centre has a rule that my Sims can find anything they want there for free as long as they help with the gardening while they visit.

I definitely could buy Wolfsbane before I had Werewolves though. It's always at the garden shop stall in Finchwick. I only got Werewolves a few weeks ago but I've been buying it for months for collecting Sims who happened to be shopping there. I just haven't seen it in any seed packets though. It wasn't there when I first got CoL and must have arrived when added to the base game I guess. My garden centre is from several months ago and I added the Wolfsbane to it after buying it from a Crumplebottom.

I got one of my Sims to put little pots of it on Moonwood Mill lots along with Death Flowers as I was rebuilding the world although I know it grows wild there.

They arent found in the normal seed packet theres a wolfsbane seed packet which can be bought. I think random prize awards could be stuff like the finchwick fair or getting packets for running errands

@ReneHollyDesign1 Yes, but OP was looking for it in base game, which I guess wolfsbane is now part of (it is like infants coming to base game but milestones are part of a pack, I think?). But because base game doesn't have those worlds, they can't obtain the plant.

@simsplayer818 I didn't even think about the gallery; good idea
