How to restart Stangerville?

I played the Stangervile story last spring. I would like to replay it in the same save as before (I only play one family in one save). How do I do it?

It said somewhere that I need to have a bizarre fruit in my inventory amd revive the Mother plant.

First of all, I don't have the key card to the lab so my sim can't get downstairs in the lab and interact with the Mother plant. Also, if I go down to look at the Mother plant, it's not there. Just a dark pit.

The sim who killed the Mother plant and his keycard etc. is long gone.

What do I? I don't want a new save.

    Have you tried talking about StrangerVille to the residents there?
    If that does not work you can potentially get the key card from debug.

    How did you get into the lab to look at Mother?

    I have not played thru the mystery for a while but I can do some checking.

    All packs installed and patches are current.
    PC / Win 10
    Never used CC or mods.

    From what I remember, the lab stayed open after defeating Mother, so you shouldn't need the keycard to get in. 

    You can get the bizarre fruit from the Curio Shop in town, then head over to the lab and revive Mother by interacting with the dark pit.
