I find the special events (like the current Nature's Calling) frustrating because the tasks always seem to spontaneously reset, forcing you to do the same things over and over again. So yes, if there's a way to opt-out and get it off my screen, I'd love to learn how.

this is stupid I don't want to do the event and I can't figure out how to turn it off but it's bothering me just sitting in the corner od the screen

Just so I can add to the apparently MASSIVE list of people who have paid ridiculous sums to continue playing new content only to have their gameplay messed with...
This sucks. I was gone for awhile, and now I have this awful events UI that I'm forced to have constantly popping up. I don't want to participate in these obnoxious events. I will never want to participate. It is a sleazy tactic that should absolutely be addressed; give players (WHO, BY THE WAY, PAID MONEY FOR THESE GAMES) the option to hide the UI without having to do some janky method of going offline. Surely these pleas fall on selectively deaf ears, but I'll scream into a void if I must.

Yeah, it looks like EA's policy is that you either start up a separate save to work through all these events without ruining your usual saves, or just stop playing the game at all for several weeks, however many times a year. No respect for their customers maybe having past trauma - and who doesn't have trauma these days? - or just not wanting to have this succession of very structured events forced into our private sandboxes.
But EA already specifically told us it despises people who play single-player games, because apparently if you don't want to play online games and get sexually harassed by random strangers, that makes you someone to milk for cash but also treat like dirt.

I just came back to playing after a long time of not. This event or whatever that is going on is utter BS and I cannot make it go away. I hate it and it makes gameplay terrible.

Please provide option to prevent these rewards quests entirely. Thank you

Exactly! This is super intrusive and I hate how this large icon looks in my UI. I shouldn't have to play offline to not see it! I want to have access to gallery when I play. We should just have an option to not participate. It's as simple as adding the "display events" or whatever toggle in the online settings. It's super simple. I hate that we can't.

Yes, I HATE that these stupid events are mandatory! Sure, maybe, someone will have fun with it and like it, but I don't need a battle pass in my game that I already bought. I do not care that these are free events. Please, add an option to turn the events off in the settings. I don't care for them & you can't force players to do what they clearly don't want to. Make it optional. Begging you. It's extremely annoying and this tab in live mode is killing my mood every single time.

I'm yet another formally frequent Sims 4 player who's going to ignore the game till the event is over. Will my protest even be noticed? Doubt it, but it makes me feel better.

I've stopped playing Sims 4 until I hear that events have become optional. Deleting it also freed up a HUGE amount of disk space.
