are you using mods and cc in your game ?
Have you tried a new save game for testing purposes to see if you have the same issues occurring ?

No, I don't have any cc or mods in my game. I've never used them.
Concerning the save file in question, this is a fairly new file, made after the November 7 or 8th patch. It's a recovered save, as I was hit wit the Error: 102 bug. I was able to get my sims back by recovering the save. I could try sometime to make another save file and see if this is occurring.
