Just try a new save if you can repro the issues on a new save for testing purposes.
There was also another patch today. Maybe that helps. It fixes error 102.
Hi @crinrict, I tested the placemats in both my main save and a brand-new one.
The placemats still vanish, however I noticed that the placemats DO NOT disappear if a family or party sized plate/bowl of food is place on the table and the sim takes food from it while sitting down at the table. Strange eh?
I took some video footage too of the placemats vanishing to show what's going on.
Does it happen to all place mats or only on some of them ?
Do you have the huggy greetings overload on a new save as well ?
The huggy greetings seemed to have calmed down a bit. Sometimes my sims with a romantic relationship have been kissing each other on the cheek as well. This must be all related, and I guess in platonic relationships sims will run up and hug each other sometimes now. Maybe it's been introduced since the November patches? I haven't tried the greetings yet on the new save. I should try that! (I might get a change this evening.)
From what I can tell, the placemat thing happens to pretty much everyone if the food hasn't been placed on the table beforehand. I noticed that one sim, a teen girl, had her placement vanish, even though she was sitting down when she took the food from the main plate at the table. This has been tested on the standard placemats. I haven't yet tried it on the party or fancy ones yet. I will test it the next time I open my game.

Hi @crinrict I tested out the placemats again. Yes, this bug seems to be affecting all placemat types, not just the casual ones.
Concerning huggy greetings, my sims are still doing them an awful lot, but sometimes they don't. I don't think the hugs are as much of a bug, as it seems to be connected to sims with romantic relationships greeting each other my kissing on the cheek. Maybe the next patch will change it so that a sim won't always get up from eating their meal to hug/kiss another sim when greeting them. I saw someone talking about their sims kissing each other in greeting on the official forums, but I don't know about hugs. I may post there about the vanishing placemats there too, as maybe some other folks are having the same/similar problem.
