I wonder if it could be because they added home businesses to the base game. Though I've been playing a household in Oasis Spring that I made the living room and kitchen accessible to the public and I'm not seeing an influx of visitors. The sidewalk is very busy but I think Oasis Spring has always been like that.
That could be an explanation, if they increased the rate of visit with the business in minds!
But they really should adapt it for residential lot imo. I've played that game for a long time and I never saw something like that. It's really one visitor after the other. (Like one knock, wait and when they decide to go away after a while they cross path with the new person that is going to knock, then rinse and repeat, none stop :/ )
