Is outdoor retreat worth it?
I like to have a least one of my sims collect, fish and cook new things. Without telling me specifics please, does outdoor living provide "new" things in these areas. New harestables? Trying to decid...

@RonneeSimmer I do like Outdoor Retreat, mostly because it fits well with my style of playing. My Sim lives in an old rustic cabin (in Brindleton Bay, the world that came with the Cats & Dogs EP) and many of the Buy/Build items I used for the cabin are from Outdoor Retreat. These items would work well in any world if that's the look you are going for. I built another pretty cool cabin in Oasis Springs. I also use quite a few of the CAS outfits, hiking boots, etc., for my Sim for the same reason, I like the outdoor look. The world that Outdoor Retreat comes with, Granite Falls, is quite pretty and no spoilers but yeah there are lots of new collectibles, fish, cooking recipes, etc. It makes a fun place for family vacations or for just a single Sim wanting to spend some time alone with nature. You can choose to stay in a cabin or rough it in a tent. To me, it was definitely worth it, but I'd also wait 'til you can find it on sale.
I really, REALLY want to get Island Living but the bug list still looks too long for my comfort. I'm going to wait a little while longer in the hope that they clean things up by Christmas. I have enough bugs as it is!

@RonneeSimmer, @MapleSimmer , @RandomBuzziness , I agree with what @BlackjackWidow said about Island Living. I enjoy the pack and it is very relaxing to play (well, maybe not the volcanic lot, but the rest of it is 😃). I just was thinking that @RonneeSimmer was thinking of choosing between the two because they might have wanted a Vacation destination. A lot of people assume Island Living is a vacation destination and then are confused when they buy it. I just wanted to make it clear that it wasn't a vacation pack, but in the process I think I made the pack sound like a bad pack. 🤭 I quite enjoy it, and have not finished exploring all it has to offer! I also love this pack because fishing, looking for seashells, cleaning up the beach, and building sandcastles are something that children and elders can do as well! 🙌 It isn't always the case that a pack has gameplay for all the ages present in the game! Toddlers also enjoy digging in the sand and making sand castles! ❤️ And there are several part time jobs that come with this pack as well as the full time Conservationist career. And if you like Mermaids, they are absolutely gorgeous! 🥳
- @PugLove888 No worries! I did not get the impression from your first post that Island Living was a bad expansion pack. I will definitely get it, it's just a matter of when. I'm still fairly new to TS4 and I've been slowly adding to my content library bit by bit.
Btw- I also love the Cats and Dogs EP! Brindleton Bay in autumn or winter is so gorgeous that it's kinda ruined some of the other worlds for me xD@RandomBuzziness, I agree about Brindleton Bay! I love the how the Seasons play out there! The trees are wonderful and I love the Cape Cod style of buildings there! Cats & Dogs and Seasons are my favorite EPs.
The world of Glimmerbrook in Realm of Magic is also gorgeous! ❤️ (It is a smaller world though.) Selvadora in Jungle Adventure is also stunning, just in a different way from Brindleton Bay and Glimmerbrook! 😉I'm glad that I didn't give you the impression that Island Living was a bad pack! 🙂 I just want people to know what they are getting in a pack before they buy it, and I know of several instances where people mistakenly thought it was a vacation pack. And since @RonneeSimmer seemed to also like another vacation pack, I wanted to be clear. 😳

I also love Get Together as Windenburg looks amazing in the winter and I love the idea of hanging out in a cafe or tavern when it's cold outside.
So what am I thinking of adding next? Lol that's a very good question and something I should probably figure out soon! My next EP will almost certainly be Island Living. I'd like to see how things look after the December patch before I decide on when to buy.
Even though Sulani is a "home" world rather than specifically a vacation destiny like Granite Falls or Selvadorada, I'd like to experiment with creating something like a campground on a vacant "generic" community lot. I'd place some sort of restroom facility but otherwise just landscape it to blend with the surrounding area. My Sim could travel to this lot and camp out using a tent and portable furniture from the OR pack. So yeah, sort of a "vacation" destination on a "home" world. I'm sure I'd also love to switch to a different Sim family every now & then to live there full-time.
To get back to your question, though, I'm waiting to see what goes on sale for Black Friday. I haven't added very many Stuff Packs yet so I am thinking maybe My First Pet Stuff or Laundry Day Stuff as they seem like they would the best match for my style of play. I tend to play single Sims with one or more pets rather than families with young children. I might consider StrangerVille if I decide to buy a Game Pack as I already have Jungle Adventure and Outdoor Retreat, the two GP's I wanted the most.
