@EllaJacobs2000 I don't think there's a way to favorite items - though it does certainly sound useful! One possible workaround though, especially if most of your favorite items are smaller, is to put them all into one room and save that room to your library. Then when you are working on a new build, you can place that room off to the side and have all the items there on the lot to use in decorating.
